Here is a summary of the latest LandMark updates as of September 2025!
Updated Indigenous and Community Land Maps
- LandMark map data for Indigenous Peoples' Lands & Territories, Local Community Lands, and Indicative Areas of Indigenous and Community Lands were updated in September 2025 for the following countries: Colombia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of Congo, Peru, Kenya, Spain, and Canada.
- A previous data layer on Natural Resource Rights was merged with the data layers on Indigenous Peoples Lands & Territories, Local Community Lands, and Indicative Areas of Indigenous Community Lands. There is no loss of coverage or removal of data, just a consolidation of how the data are presented on the map in order to simplify the structure and prevent confusion over the importance of natural resource rights.
New and Revised Analyses
- You can now perform analysis of Tree Cover within a territory, which reports total tree cover area within a territory and sets a baseline for tree cover loss analyses.
- Data for Forest greenhouse gas net flux and tree cover loss are updated through 2024.
